Royal Welsh 2013

2013 was another year to remember with Gwastod Halo coming 3rd in the Juniour heifer class at the Royal Welsh.

Moelfre Alwyna also came 2nd in her class at the show with her heifer calf by Silver Joss, Alwyna is in calf to a french bull - Gala RS.

Gwastod Generator -3rd in RWAS 2011 Youngest Charolais Bull Class (bull born after 01/04/12)

Gwastod Generator, a promising young bull bred by B.L.Williams, came third in one of the toughest charolais classes at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show 2012. Against an entry of 14 junior bulls born on or between 01/04/2011 - 30/06/2011 Generator was placed third by Judge Murray Lyle, Lochend.

Generator goes back to one of the Gwastod foundation cows, Charbron Vivid, a large, milky and correct cow.

Generators Sire, Elgin Columo was originally purchased by Genus for the Dairy Sector, Columbo has excelled and sons have become juniour champions, He is Very Easy Calving.

The 2012 show season kick starts on the 9th of June with the Aberystwyth Show. A couple of entries are due out from Gwastod...Watch this Space!!

Moelfre TonwenAs a first time exhibitor, who would have thought in the months leading up to the Royal Welsh that even coming home with a rosette would have been possible, but coming home with a class win and the Overall Female Championship of the Breed, the dream certainly came true.

Generator was 3rd in the Junior Bull Class at the Royal Welsh.

Sired by Elgin Columbo - Columbo was specifically selected for the dairy sector,

he is within the breed’s top 5% for calving ease with a calving ease direct EBV

of +8.8, and he is within the breed’s top 10% on Terminal Index (TI) for cross

breeding purposes. Bred by the Milne family, of Kennies Hillock, Lhanbryde, 

Elgin, Morayshire, Columbo is by Harestone Uruguy, who is also within the

breed’s top 5% for calving ease.

Gwastod Generator has been double vaccinated for BVD.

He was blood tested on the 30/08/12 and is NEGATIVE for

The 2015 Royal Welsh Show proved to be yet another sucessfull show for the Gwastod herd with Gwastod Halo taking 1st prize in Class 423 Cow or heifer i n milk, or in calf born in 2012 under the auspicious eye of judge Mr Colin J Wight, Carwood Farm, Biggar.
